Dr. Ali’s OHM
Heat, Message) Control of GERD
Following are my
guidelines for controlling chronic heartburn caused
by GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disorder). These
guidelines should be considered after the presence
of other medical conditions have been ruled out by a
doctor. These guidelines include:
1. An anti-inflammatory oil rub (castor oil is my
first choice, sesame oil can be used as its
substitute on some days).
2. Local heat therapy (with a heat pack or with a
heating coil built in a hand-held massager.
3. Massage all of the abdomen, favoring the upper
part with gentle rotatory motion of the massager.
4. The use of a pillow over the massager helps to
anchor it and block vibrations to the hand or wrist
and so is preferable).
5. Gastric enzyme formula (two tablets with each
meal). Go to www.aliacademy.org to see the
composition of my Gastric One Protocol and to order
it if desired.
6. Fennel, fenugreek, licorice, peaud’arco tea (Go
to www.aliacademy.org to see the composition of my
GERD/Gastritis Tea (Bowel 13 Protocol) and to order
it if desired.
7. Aloe water, one ounce three times a day (more
often if needed earlier in the treatment).
Gastritis (inflammation of the stomach) and GERD (gastroesophageal
reflux disorder, heartburn) always go hand-in-hand,
Both are caused by stomach fermentation which
results from altered stomach flora and stress. I
discuss these subjects at length in two video
seminars, which can be downloaded by clicking the
